A Rainbow called Life

Love and hate, fear and courage, anger and calmness, music and dance all furrow our lives. It is like a painting of emotions and events. Each person entering our life adds splashes of colours. Each splash is new and has a purpose and role in our evolution. Some of them may be darker, others lighter. Yet, each is a drop in the rainbow of our lives.

In my book “Happiness Recipe”, I wrote: “Whether we call it good or bad, everything new to us means a change in our life. Every change means getting out of the comfort we knew and adapting to something different. It means overcoming the past, taking in the lessons that need to be learned and living life on.”

However, it is not easy to understand, accept and do this. For some, it’s hard to stand up, for others, it’s hard to recover after a loved one’s loss. For some, it is even hard to accept that life can surprise them with beauty.

After failures and tragedies, you experience the feeling that you no longer know what you are doing. You don’t know where to take it. “You live like in a trance for a while because it’s hard to accept that this is happening to you. That you are the one who is “struck by fate”. However, failures and tragedies are also part of our lives because they teach like nothing else what pain is.”(Happiness Recipe)

You will feel that you are no longer who you were and will no longer live as you did until then. Maybe it’s hard to believe, but you won’t live as you did before, for every experience leaves its mark and brings you new lessons. Your comfort shatters, and you need to adjust to a new beginning.

A dark world

The decision and the way we make it is ours. We can cry, complain and live in constant pain for a long time. The deeper we go into the negative state, the harder it is to get out of it. We stay in that loop of negativity feeling worse and worse but still comfortable, feeling like it’s the only state we deserve to live in. Is that so? Don’t we deserve to feel good, to live satisfied and happy? Is this a privilege just for some? Or is it something we don’t know, that escapes us, something others don’t allow us to know?

All this negative state supports us to see life in dark colours, black and grey. It stops us from enjoying ourselves, following our dreams, and living the life we deserve.

It is not easy to change the state. It does not easily get off the road of negativity, guilt, shame, and victimization. There is no deadline by which we heal the pains, but it is not impossible. We choose how to feel, react, and act. We choose what lessons to learn from what life offers.

A coloured world

The more we stop seeing ourselves as victims, as helpless beings or unable to do what we dream of, the easier it is to change the energy we live with. But we need to do it, not only want it. We can accept what happened, look for the good side of it, and continue living while looking forward.

The positive state is one we like because it is a high state vibration, where you feel full of life. It is where you know you can overcome any obstacle that stands in your way. You feel that nothing can stop you from following whatever dreams you have. It’s a life everyone wants, but how many of us have it? How many of us follow it? Do we believe in ourselves and what we are capable of doing?

The positive state needs the courage to explore, dissect, and accept our fears to overcome them. It is the state that paints our life in different colours and makes us want to feel alive. If you wish to live that, you will have to get rid of the baggage that keeps you feeling small, insignificant and worthless.

When in doubt, think of how you want to live, in black and grey or in colours. What helps you get through the hard times, pessimism or optimism? Dark or light?

The choice to detach ourselves from what we do not like and what hurts, to see and choose the colours, and enjoy them, belongs to us. Life is not just good or bad, but a play of colours from darkest to lightest. It is like a rainbow.

Live your life accepting all its colours!
